Separation technology
The membrane technology is one kind of technology which widely applies in many fields, especially in the liquid or gas separation, concentration and purification. In ultrafiltration and microfiltration process the solvent and the low molecularsolute pass through the membrane under pressure, the macromolecular solutes and suspended solids are cut off. The membrane technology has many advantages such as highly efficient separation, high selectivity, simple operation, low energy consumption without phase transition, running under room temperature, etc. Generally membrane processes used in liquid separation include microfiltration(MF), ultrafiltration(UF), reverse osmosis(RO), nanofiltration(NF), and membrane bioreactor(MBR).
The hollow fiber membrane is an important type of membranes. Compared with other types of membrane modules, the biggest membrane area in the unit volume for hollow fiber modules is available. The hollow fiber membranes have widely applied in membrane separation with follow advantages: high separation efficiency, easy to cleaning, simple structure, convenient operation, good performance-to-price ratio.
Membrane separation spectrum:
1,Microfiltration (MF): The membrane process used to remove the particles, suspended solids or bacteria from liquid with MF membrane. The pore diameter of MF membrane is in the range of 0.05-0.2μm. 
2,Ultrafiltration(UF): The membrane process used to separate the particles or macromolecular solutes from liquid fluid with UF membrane. The pore diameter of UF membrane is in the range of 10-1000Å
3,Membrane bioreactors(MBR): The MBR is an attractive wastewater treatment technology based on the combination of highly efficient membrane separation technology and activated sludge process. The application of hollow fiber membrane replaces the secondary sediment tank of activated sludge process and carries out solid-liquid separation. Highly efficient retention of membranes is likely to retain effectively nitration bacteria making nitration reaction smoothly and remove ammonia nitrogen; simultaneous retain difficulty degradable macromolecular organisms temporarily, extend residential time in the reactor to the maximum decomposition.
